The Power of Smoothies

I was lucky to get a Magic Bullet as one of my bridal shower gifts, and ever since then I have been devoted in making scrumptious smoothies for breakfast. First, I need to say, that breakfast should be a must. It sets the mood and energy for your day, so never go without it. Secondly, I recommend that you measure everything that goes in, so you know how many calories your smoothie contains.

I have plenty of recipes for making energy filled and tasty smoothies, but I will give you my all time favorite, and if you want more, just let me know ;o)

"Berry Me Banana"
1 cup of skim or fat free milk
1 small ripe banana
1/4 cup of blueberries
1 tsp of peanut butter (I use natural)
1/4 cup of steel cut oats (Quaker)
Dash of cinnamon (optional)
3 cubes of ice
Place all ingredients in the Magic Bullet small cup and blend for about a minute or until ice is thoroughly crushed, then place the lid on cup and enjoy!

(berry me banana is the one on the left with the orange lid)

  1. If you use frozen fruits you can eliminate the ice cubes and try some fat free greek yogurt too. I love making smoothies!!

  2. Smoothies are great right?! And yes, I also love using Greek yogurt at times instead of the milk, it's awesome. Good idea on the frozen fruit, I'm going to start freezing some from now on ;o)
